Who We Are
We’re an independent team of writers, developers, and AI enthusiasts who got tired of reading AI tool reviews that were obviously rewritten press releases. So we started testing tools ourselves.
AI Compared was founded in 2026 with one goal: give people honest, data-backed answers to the question “which AI tool should I actually use?”
We don’t accept payment for rankings. We buy our own subscriptions. We run standardized tests. And when a tool isn’t worth the money, we say so.
What We Do
Hands-on comparisons. We test AI tools against each other using identical, standardized prompts. Every response time is measured. Every output is recorded. We show you the actual results, not marketing claims.
Honest reviews. We use each tool for a minimum of 30 days before reviewing it. We pay for our own subscriptions – no free accounts, no special access, no “media” pricing.
Buyer’s guides. We rank and categorize AI tools so you can find the right one for your specific needs and budget. Our guides are updated monthly as tools evolve.
How We Make Money
We believe in total transparency about our business model:
Affiliate links. Some links in our articles are affiliate links. If you subscribe to a tool through our link, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never influences our rankings, scores, or recommendations. We’ve given negative reviews to tools with generous affiliate programs and positive reviews to tools with no affiliate program at all.
We clearly label affiliate relationships in every article with a disclosure at the top.
That’s it. No sponsored posts. No paid placements. No “premium listings.” Our revenue comes from earning your trust and helping you make good purchasing decisions.
